Library Luis Ángel Arango

The library collection began with the founding of the Bank of the Republic in 1923. In 1955 Luis Angel Arango, the bank's general manager (1947-1957), began construction of its headquarters, opened in 1958. Has more than 45,000 square feet on two blocks where more than 2,000 reading seats, a concert hall and three buildings: Art museum of the Bank of the Republic, The Mint and the Botero Museum, which house collections of Coins , Colombian and international art and temporary exhibitions. Gold Museum

With the purchase of poporo Quimbaya, adopted on May 17, 1939, the board of the Central Bank began the collection of the Museo del Oro gold and assigned the task of defending the archaeological objects and prevent their escape to the outside. Colón Theatre

Plaza de Bolívar
